PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety of body access to a printer under operation. SOLUTION: A guard region B formed by a guard cover part 78 to prohibit body access to a carrying means (chain gripper 74 etc.) is extended/contracted in conjunction with preset instruction for presetting the size of paper. Access of a body to inside of the guard region B is detected by area sensors 79 arranged in the guard cover part 78, and the body is guarded only by providing the guard region B which is a dangerous region formed in the carrying means side (an opening part for passing paper from the carrying means to a paper delivery part 77) of the paper delivery part 77.
