PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open showcase in which front glass is made attachable to and detachable from the upper surface of a front wall of a heat insulating wall and the beautiful appearance of the upper surface of the front wall of the heat insulating wall can be improved even when the front glass is not provided. SOLUTION: In the open showcase 1 provided with a handrail 20 at the upper end of the front wall 2C of the heat insulating wall 2 positioned at the lower edge of an opening 12, the handrail 20 comprises: a handrail body 24 attached to the upper end of the front wall 2C and provided with a recessed groove 44 opened at the upper part for inserting the front glass; a front upper panel 21 from the opening front edge of the recessed groove 44 to the upper part of the front surface of the front wall; and an upper cover 26 freely detachably inserted into the recessed groove 44 for closing the recessed groove 44 and covering the upper edge part of the front upper panel 21.
