PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for surely and efficiently carrying out quantitative detection of Prevotella intermedia (P.i.), Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (A.a) and Treponema denticola (T.d.) known as causal bacterium of periodontal diseases. SOLUTION: The problems can be solved by the quantitative detection of 1-3 bacterial species selected from periodontal disease bacteria group composed of P.i., A.a. and T.d. by the following methods in a method for the quantitative detection of periodontal disease bacteria in a specimen by a real-time PCR process. (1) P.i. is quantitatively detected by using a region comprising≥10 consecutive bases selected from the region between the 31st and the 192nd bases of the 16SrRNA gene of P.i. as a template, (2) A.a. is quantitatively detected by using a region comprising≥10 consecutive bases selected from the region between the 465th and the 609th bases of the 16SrRNA gene of A.a. as a template, and (3) T.d. is quantitatively detected by using a region comprising≥10 consecutive bases selected from the region between the 333rd and the 445th bases of the 16SrRNA gene of T.d. as a template.
