BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to maintain the temperature distribution of a flat panel fluorescent lamp uniformly, thereby enhancing the light emitting property. A flat panel fluorescent lamp includes a lamp body divided into plural discharge spaces and for generating the light beam. Outside electrodes are formed at both ends of the lamp body and crossed with the discharge spaces. A bottom chassis receives the flat panel fluorescent lamp. A buffer member(400) is arranged between the flat panel fluorescent lamp and the bottom chassis corresponding to the outside electrodes and has an insulation groove(410) for forming an air layer by contacting with the bottom chassis. The buffer member includes a protrusion protruded toward the bottom chassis corresponding to the insulation groove. The buffer member is made of silicon materials. The lamp body includes the second substrate combined with the first substrate and for forming a discharge space.
