<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor for accurately clipping a desired object from a display image. <P>SOLUTION: A polygonal region surrounding a clipping object is designated from a displayed image, and whether or not each side of the designated polygon is brought into contact with the clipping object is decided. Then, the side which is not brought into contact with the clipping object is selected as the side of the start the clipping processing according to the decision result, and the values of pixels are checked in the internal direction of the polygonal region from the selected side.
