<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper base for a recording medium, which has a property equivalent to conventional ones and is improved in its surface smoothness while reducing the amount of plastics to be used when manufacturing, and also is improved in the dimensional stability of the produced paper base, and also to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The recording medium paper base 10 is composed of: a paper sheet 12; and plastic films 14 having a melting point or softening point of 150°C or lower, such as of polyethylene or polypropylene bonded on both surfaces of the paper sheet 12. The plastic films having a melting point or softening point of 150°C or lower are bonded on both surfaces on the paper 12 through an adhesive respectively. Then, a pressure of 0.1 MPa or larger is applied to bond the plastic films 14 on both sides of the paper sheet 12 while heating up to 80°C or higher but 120°C or lower for 10 seconds or longer. The base thus manufactured is cooled to a temperature lower than 100°C while maintaining the pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
