WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND SOFTWARE UPDATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update the software of a base station without disrupting the providing of a communication service while the communication services are being provided.

SOLUTION: The wireless communication apparatus 110 having a plurality of frequencies makes a communication with a wireless terminal 300 and a wired communication network by using a channel selected among channels 900 and 910 capable of set for every frequency. When receiving a request for updating software, the wireless communication apparatus 110 transmits a traffic channel assignment message (TCA message) for designating a frequency f2 of a switch destination to the wireless terminal 300 so as to switch a channel providing communication services in a first frequency f1 to a channel of the second frequency f2 other without blackouts. The wireless terminal 300 performs a handover to the second frequency f2 according to the message. The wireless communication apparatus 110 rewrites a software set in a signal processing part of the first frequency f1 to software having been received in advance, and restarts the providing of the communication service.
