PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine capable of restraining remaining of a particulate deposited in an outer peripheral part of a filter, while restraining an excessive rise in the catalyst bed temperature in filter regeneration control.
SOLUTION: When a PM deposit quantity in a PM filter 26 reduces to a determining value (a) or less near to "0" in the filter regeneration control, the target bed temperature is set to the final temperature being the temperature capable of burning PM deposited in the outer peripheral part of the PM filter 26, and a supply quantity of an unburnt fuel component to a catalyst is increased more than a quantity till then so as to raise the catalyst bed temperature toward its target bed temperature (the final temperature). At this time, since the PM deposit quantity in the PM filter 26 is reduced, a sudden rise such as being unable to restrain a rise in the catalyst bed temperature when much PM burn at once, is restrained in response to supply of the unburnt fuel component to the catalyst.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
