<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous lithographic printing ink washable off with water after printing, thus enabling the global environment and workplace ambience to be improved, and also excellent in high-speed printability, print adherence, stainproofness, water resistance and frictional resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous lithographic printing ink comprises (a) a pigment, (b) a water-soluble resin or a water-dispersible resin, (c) a vegetable oil or a vegetable oil-derived fatty acid ester, (d) a metal dryer and (e) water. This printing ink of the above composition is 1 wt.% or less in organic compound volatiles after heated at 110°C for one hour.
