A partition panel 1 Fig. 1 carries, at its upper end an element 11 which interlocks with an element 4 of the ceiling and, at its lower end a piece 20 which is urged against the floor 19, the vertical edges being provided with shaped pieces 18 Fig. 3, having hook-shaped flanges 18<SP>1</SP> which engage hook shaped flanges 18<SP>1</SP> on similar shaped pieces 18 of an adjacent panel. Resilient material enclosed within . each flange 18<SP>1</SP> is engaged by the edge of the cooperating flange 18<SP>1</SP>. The piece 20 carries suction pads 27 and is urged downwardly by a spring 23 which is itself carried by a slidable block 21 having an inclined face 22 which cooperates with a screw actuated adjusting wedge 24. The pieces 18 which engage grooves 17<SP>1</SP> in the panel edges are such that an individual panel can be removed laterally of the wall without disturbing adjacent panels. Columns 28 having grooves 28<SP>1</SP> for shaped pieces 18 are provided for interconnecting walls set at right angles to each other. Heat and sound insulating material such as neoprene is provided at the connection to the ceiling at 10 and 15.</p> |
