摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a node device for efficiently performing multicast relay by quickly switching paths of multicast data when a failure occurs in a ring network and to obtain a communication system. SOLUTION: The node device operating as an active ring node or a standby ring node on the ring network is provided with a learning part 14 for snooping and learning a message for performing data relay as data relay information before a failure occurs in the active ring node when the node device itself operates as a standby ring node, and an active/standby switching part 16 for controlling switching as to whether to operate as an active ring node or a standby ring node, wherein the active/standby switching part 16 switches the ring node itself to be an active ring node on the basis of the data relay information learned by the learning part 14 when a failure occurs in an active ring node in the case that the ring node itself operates as a standby ring node.
