PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose-coated pigment which has good dispersibility, moisture absorbability, moisture retainability and oil absorbability, and is excellent in temporal stability, even when compounded with aqueous cosmetics. SOLUTION: This cellulose-coated pigment is characterized by neutralizing a pigment dispersion obtained by dispersing a pigment in a cellulose solution containing the pigment in a solvent or adding a poor solvent for the cellulose to the pigment dispersion to deposit the cellulose, thereby coating the pigment with the cellulose.
