PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a temperature control function of a transmission 2 and a cabin heating function at a satisfactory level in a cooling device for adjusting temperatures of the transmission 2 and a heater core 13 for heating a cabin by employing cooling water in an internal combustion engine 1 of a water cooled structure. SOLUTION: The device includes a switching means 16 and a heater passage 6 for returning cooling water discharged from a cylinder head 1b side to a cylinder block 1a side through a heater core 13. In this case, while keeping a heater route (refer to Z in Figures 1, 2 ) for continuously circulating cooling water in the heater passage 6, the switching means 16 secures as required either of a circulation route for warming-up (refer to Y1 in Figure 1) which returns cooling water branched from the downstream of the heater core 13 in the heater passage 6 to the cylinder block 1a side through the heat exchanger 14 for a transmission or a circulation route for cooling (refer to Y2 in Figure 2) which returns cooling water in the cylinder block 1a to the cylinder block 1a side through the heat exchanger 14 for a transmission.
