PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a strip of packing material from curling by itself after embossing. SOLUTION: An assembly for an embossing has two embossing rollers (6, 7), rotating about their respective axes of rotation (9, 10) to emboss the strip (5) of packing material which, in use, is fed along an embossing plane (A), substantially tangent to the two rollers (6, 7), and through an embossing passage (13) defined between the two rollers (6, 7); the axes of rotation (9, 10) being skewed with respect to each other and substantially parallel to the embossing plane (A).
