The floor conveyor (14), which may be provided in the form of a forklift truck, is provided with an on-board computer and a radio unit. The on-board computer is configured to receive data and generate data about the goods to be conveyed and the position of the goods in a warehouse. The generated data are transmitted to a central data processing system (10) by the radio unit for stock management. Radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders are used for transmitting and receiving data in the on-board computer.
