<p>A coated cermet cutting device, and the use thereof are provided to improve wear resistance thereof without damaging an edge in a high-productive mechanical process with large cutting depth. A coated cermet cutting device comprises a cermet body(C) and a coating. The cermet body includes a cobalt or nickel binder phase. The coating is formed by layering the layered nitride or the carbide, layered by a CVD method or an MTCVD(Moderate Temperature CVD) method. The thickness of the coating is in the range of 21~50 um, and the angle of an insert at an inclined surface is in the range of 10~25 degrees, when the insert is formed with the plain inclined surface without a simple chip breaker and the cobalt binder phase. The thickness of the coating is in the range of 10~50 um when the coating includes the cobalt or the nickel binder phase.</p> |
