An environmentally friendly nonhalogenated flame retardant composition for synthetic leather is provided to improve flame retardancy and to prevent the generation of dioxin, toxic gas and smoke in case of combustion. A nonhalogenated flame retardant composition comprises 6-9 wt% of a water-soluble polyurethane resin; 6-9 wt% of a water-soluble methyl methacrylate resin; 28-32 wt% of a nonhalogenated flame retardant; 45-57 wt% of water as a solvent; 1.5-3.5 wt% of polyethylene oxide as a thickener; and 1.5-3.5 wt% of an ethylene dipropylene-based block copolymer surfactant as a dispersant. The nonhalogenated flame retardant comprises 50-70 wt% of ethylene dimelamine; 15-25 wt% of antimony trioxide; and 15-25 wt% of zinc borate.
