A method and an apparatus for decoding a video image are provided to limit a service of a specific view according to a degree of service authority of a user with respect to a multiview video signal. A method for decoding a video image comprises the following steps of: deciding a service level of a user(S20); extracting multiview information from an inputted video signal, designating limit view according to the decided service level, and generating a limit view control signal(S30); and decoding a multiview video signal according to the limit view control signal(S40).
