An air filter for an air conditioner is provided to form filter elements in a single standard to be compatibly used in air conditioners of different standards without any change, thereby simplifying production and management of the air filter. An air filter for an air conditioner includes a main frame having a plurality of filter coupling openings(11), and filter elements(20) detachably mounted in each of the openings. The filter element includes a filter frame and a filter. The filter frame has a frame-shaped coupling flange part closely contacting a peripheral surface of the opening, and at least an air flow pipe part extended from the coupling flange part to form an air path, wherein the filter frame is detachably inserted into the opening. The filter has a frame part of the filter element in the shape complementary with an inner peripheral surface of the air path, wherein a filter film(28) blocks the center of the frame part.
