A method for providing a mobile broadcasting service based on object image segmentation in DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) is provided to offer a bi-directional broadcasting service without any modification in an existing DMB service system by dividing a video image, provided through a video channel, into object images and providing information about an object image at a mobile terminal's request. An object information provider server receives video images of a video channel from a DMB broadcasting station, extracts object image location information and object image display time information from video image information, adds link information, which contains the Internet access address of a service or contents provider server granted to each object image, to the extracted location and time information, and stores it(S210,S220). If a mobile terminal transmits an object information request signal, the object information provider server receives the request signal and searches for the object information corresponding to the received time among object information of the video channel which the mobile terminal is displaying(S230,S240). If the object information corresponding to the received time is obtained, the object information provider server extracts it and transmits it to the mobile terminal(S260).
