<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of eliminating, by a simple configuration, a level difference between a cassette cover and a manual insertion tray cover adjacent to the cassette cover when a paper feed cassette is loaded. <P>SOLUTION: A projection 42 is formed on the central part of the underside 35d of the manual insertion tray cover 35. When the paper feed cassette 10 is inserted in the main body of the apparatus, an abutting part 45 formed at the upper end of the cassette cover 34 presses the leading end of the projection 42 inwards. In such configuration, the central part of a cover front face 35b is bent inward by pressing force exerted from the cassette cover 34. This eases projecting of the cover front face 35b in a joint section 40. In this case, the manual insertion tray cover 35 can be disposed approximately in the same plane as the cassette cover 34 by designing such that a distance from the leading end of the projection 42 to the cover front face 35b is equal to a distance from the abutting part 45 to the surface of the cassette cover 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
