PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of stamping by which displacement of carrier tape caused by change of unreeling sprockets can be automatically corrected. SOLUTION: The apparatus for stamping the electronic component is provided with a driving source 21 to which the sprocket 11 is detachably set, and which rotates the sprocket 11 when the carrier tape 1 is unreeled from a supply reel; a stamping die which stamps TAB with the positioned carrier tape 1; a teeth detector 23 which detects teeth 11a of the sprocket 11 as initial origins of the rotation direction of the sprocket 11; an encoder 29 which detects the angle of rotation of the sprocket 11; and a controller which allows the sprocket 11 to rotate from its initial origin position, detects the angle of rotation of the sprocket 11 when positioning pins of the stamping die and engaging holes of the carrier tape 1 are aligned, stores the angle of rotation as the corrected origin position, and allows the sprocket 11 to unreel the carrier tape 1 on the basis of the corrected origin position.
