PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device capable of reducing variation of luminance of respective display patterns without degrading display quality of the respective display patterns. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device is provided with a substrate 1, positive electrodes 2a-2c formed on the substrate 1, an insulating layer 3 having insulating opening parts 3a-3c, a negative electrode 4, an organic compound layer 6 provided between the positive electrodes 2a-2c and the negative electrode 4 in the insulating opening parts 3a-3c, constant current sources 8a-8c for supplying a current of a current value, which is obtained by multiplying a certain reference current value by a natural number, between the positive electrodes 2a-2c and the negative electrode 4, and a light shielding layer 7 provided between the substrate 1 and the positive electrodes 2a-2c and having light shielding opening parts 7a-7c of approximately same shapes as the display patterns A-C. Areas of the insulating opening parts 3a-3c are set to values obtained by multiplying a reference area set by corresponding to the reference current value by the natural number, and the light shielding opening parts 7a-7c are arranged respectively on inner sides of the insulating opening parts 3a-3c.
