COLD-CATHODE FLUORESCENT LAMP AND BACKLIGHT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp in which a startup characteristic does not deteriorate even if the standing time in the dark is long. SOLUTION: In a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp 1 including a phosphor layer formed on an inner wall surface of a glass tube 2 having its both ends sealed; a discharge medium sealed in an inner space 4 of the glass tube; an electrode 5 arranged in the both ends of the glass tube; and a metal oxide powder layer 6 formed in a part around the electrode on the inner wall surface of the glass tube, a hollow 7 formed adjacent to the electrode in a part of the part where the metal oxide powder layer is formed in the glass tube.
