PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide leather having a metallic design layer (a mirror finished design layer such as metal surface) having excellent durability such as flexibility and peeling resistance and giving high metallic luster according to need. SOLUTION: The leather has, on the surface, a metallic design layer having an ink layer containing metal thin film strips. Concretely, the leather has at least an ink layer containing the metal thin film strips and a polyurethane resin layer on a substrate in the order. The leather is preferably synthetic or artificial leather. A leather having a hair-line design on the surface layer is also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
