PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish enhancement of productivity by reducing an idle time as much as possible by shortening a movement distance of a recording material as much as possible when a recording material that has been supplied for image formation is not supplied for the image formation and when the recording material is supplied once again for the image formation in a conveying route with a long conveying distance between a magazine and a press-conveying means. SOLUTION: When the recording material P relating to the long conveying route TL2 is not supplied to the image formation for a fixed period or more, the recording material P is retreated and stopped at a position where the leading end comes between a relay conveying means 240 and a press-conveying means 231, and the pressure contact by the relay conveying means 240 is released. In starting of the image formation, the press is reset and the recording material P is press-conveyed. The leading end of the recording material P to be conveyed is detected by a sensor or the like arranged on an upstream side of the press-conveying means 231 to grasp the proper conveying position.
