The device has two sensors (11a, 11b) operated on the basis of a different technical operational principle, where each sensor is attached to a release spring (111a). A detection signal is delivered when an object (X) is moved through a movement path by the spring within a preadjustable or variable time frame by the sensors. An evaluation circuit is provided for control and/or evaluation of the detection signal delivered by the sensors. The sensors are arranged such that the sensors have an overlapping area with reference to a monitoring area.
