The electrically operated heating film has preformed heat supply and heat radiation guides. The heating film is positioned on or under the roof surface and arranged so that weather intrusions from snow and ice are reduced. The heating film can operate in conjunction with snow and ice detectors for automatic operation. The film can be segmental to fit individual roof shapes.
