<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at substantial simplification or cost reduction of an optical dividing/inserting device and furthermore a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplex) transmission system by constituting the optical dividing/inserting device without using optical components, such as an optical switch and a rejection filter. <P>SOLUTION: WDM Signals from a WDM transmission device 1(3) to a WDM reception device 3(1) are allowed to pass with the optical dividing/inserting devices 2-1, 2-2, 2-3. Transmission of the optical signal with an idle wavelength being a wavelength in an idle state without transmission data to be transmitted out of the WDM signals is stopped by the WDM transmission device 1(3). Transmission devices 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 transmit the transmission data to be transmitted by themselves, using the optical signal with an insertion wavelength equal to the wavelength being an empty wavelength due to the transmission stop. When the transmission is completed, a transmission completion notice is given to the WDM transmission device 1(3). The WDM transmission device 1(3) restarts transmission of the optical signal which has been stopped when receiving the transmission completion notice. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
