<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission suitable for both the low-speed travel and the high-speed travel of a vehicle by effectively using the large influence of the distance in the coordinate axes between the engine speed and the number of rotations of an output shaft on the alignment chart when performing the speed change between an engine and a wheel driving shaft by a compound planetary gear device. <P>SOLUTION: A rotation output member Out is coupled in a changing manner by a clutch CL between two rotation units of a compound planetary gear device having four rotation units by combining two planetary gear devices P1, P2.
