<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake surely supporting a lid member at the opening of a cylinder body with reduced overall weight. <P>SOLUTION: A flange part 52 is formed on the outer periphery of a caliper body 46 at the portion formed with the opening 45. The outer diameter of the flange part 52 is set larger than the outer diameter of the general surface 51a of the outer peripheral wall 51 of a bore 26. The lid member 43 is secured to the opening 45 by friction stirring welding. A sufficient welding margin is secured at the flange part 52. The wall thickness of the general surface 51a of the outer peripheral wall 51 of the bore 26 is reduced to reduce the weight of the disk brake. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
