PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide corrosion resistant marine steel material coated with an Zn-based primer which can be suitably used for parts such as a crude oil tank and a ballast tank in a vessel whose corrosion caused by vessel seawater becomes a problem. SOLUTION: The corrosion resistant marine steel material is obtained by coating the surface thereof with the Zn-based primer and is characterized in that the coating weight of Zn of a Zn-based primer coating film is 5 to 70 g/m<SP>2</SP>, and the coating film contains one or more selected from among Ni, Al, Cu, Mo, W, Mg and Ti in an amount of 0.1 to 35 mass% to the total Zn content.
