PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for capable of producing a phthalocyanine compound containing a desired metal as a central metal. SOLUTION: This method for producing the phthalocyanine compound expressed by general formula (3) is provided by reacting a compound expressed by general formula (1) or (2) [wherein, Z is an organic group forming a 6-membered aromatic structure together with 2 carbon atoms bonded with the Z, provided that the Z in the general formula (3) has the same meaning defined in the general formulae (1) and (2); and M is a metal atom belonging to 1 to 12th group and also 1 to 4th period] with a metal and/or a metal compound in a solvent in the presence of a secondary amine and/or diamine.
