A device and a method for authenticating a fingerprint by using relative position change between a fingerprint detector and a finger, a computer-readable recording medium storing a fingerprint authentication program, and a mobile terminal thereof are provided to improve an authentication function by reducing an authentication error according to a use type, as detection information indicating a fingerprint detection type is referred to the authentication function. A fingerprint sensor(4) detects a fingerprint and a type detector(6) detects the fingerprint detection type of the fingerprint sensor. A register registers fingerprint data detected in the fingerprint sensor. A comparator compares the fingerprint data registered in the register with the fingerprint data received from the fingerprint sensor by referring to the fingerprint detection type.
