<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader or a reader/writer wherein a digital frequency converter converts a quantized signal into a plurality of channels of time division multiplex signal on the basis of subcarrier frequencies allocated to a plurality of non-contact information recording media so as to simplify the circuit configuration and an MFM decoder is configured with hardware to relieve a load on an MPU. <P>SOLUTION: A reception section 56 is configured to include: a quantization processing section 44 comprising an LPF 42 for eliminating a carrier frequency fc included in signals of RF tags 200 received from an antenna 34, an amplifier 41 for amplifying an output signal of the LPF 42, an A/D converter 40 for converting the amplified analog signal into a digital signal to obtain the quantized signal; and a decoding circuit 43 that converts the quantized signal into the plurality of channels of the time division multiplex signals on the basis of the subcarrier frequencies assigned to the RF tags 200 and decodes a received signal coded by the MFM coding system into an NRZ signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
