<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage an area included in the respective pages of document data in a retrievable form without depending on a type of data of the area. <P>SOLUTION: This information management apparatus has: a storage unit that stores therein an area management table in which meta-information of the area included in the respective pages of the document data, a document image ID indicating its document image, a page ID indicating its page are associated with one another; an area extracting unit that extracts each page of the document data for each area based on different types of data for each area of each page of the document image; a relation extracting unit that extracts the page ID and the document ID corresponding to the extracted area based on the document data and the corresponding page of the document data and a registering unit that registers the meta-information of the extracted area, the extracted page ID and the extracted document ID in the area management table in association with one another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
