PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample management system facilitating sample management, and simply and rapidly determining the storage place of a sample. SOLUTION: This sample management system 10 comprises a sample information input part 12 for allowing sample information S1 to be input thereinto, a sample information storage part 14 capable of therein storing the inputted sample information S1, a sample data output part 16 capable of outputting at least a part of the stored sample information S1 as sample data SD, a keeping part 18 for keeping samples SP with the outputted sample data SD given thereto, a transmission part 20 capable of acquiring the given sample data SD and an identification number ID to transmit them to the exterior, a keeping place recording part 22 for receiving the transmitted sample data SD and identification number ID to record the sample information S1 associated with the identification number ID in the storage part 14, and a keeping place determination part 24 for searching for the identification number ID of the keeping part 18 based on the stored sample information SI to determine the keeping part 18 with the sample SP stored therein.
