PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic pipe adaptable to both right-handed and left-handed persons and at least twice as durable as conventional one, wherein an small-diameter pipe can be unmovably locked to a large-diameter pipe with a lever turned either in one direction or in the opposite direction. SOLUTION: The small-diameter pipe 3 is telescopically inserted into the large-diameter pipe 2. When the small-diameter pipe 3 is inserted a required length thereinto, the small-diameter pipe 3 is unmovably locked to the large-diameter pipe 2. When the lever 7 is in a neutral condition, a key 8 is not thrust against the small-diameter pipe 3 and the small-diameter pipe 3 is in a telescopic condition relative to the large-diameter pipe 2. When the lever 7 is turned to one side, a diameter-enlarged portion 6b on one side of an eccentric cam 6 pushes the key 8. Then, the key 8 is pushed against the outer peripheral face of the small-diameter pipe 3 to lock the small-diameter pipe 3. When the lever 7 is rotated to the other side, a diameter-enlarged portion 6c on the other side of the eccentric cam 6 pushes the key 8.
