A method for using a pump set having secure loading features is provided to use a pump set in a pump to supply a liquid for a patient, and to control the operation of the pump effectively, by installing a safety interlock device in a pump set. An electromagnetic radiation source is controlled by a control system to emit an electromagnetic radiation signal in a direction to hit a safety interlock device(61) that is connected to a pump set(5). The safety interlock device(61) influences the direction of the electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation detector is operationally connected to the control system to receive the electromagnetic signal when the direction is affected by the safety interlock device, and provides instruction that a pump set conduit is disposed properly in the pump for the control system. The pump is controlled to pump a liquid inside the pump set(5) only when the electromagnetic radiation emitted from the first source is detected by a first detector. |
