<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more highly precisely restore various types of defects in an image. <P>SOLUTION: An image restoration/addition part 32 adapts a face portion P1f in an image P1 to a mathematical model M which is generated by statistical methods, such as an AMM, on the basis of a plurality of sample images representing the face portion including elements to be restored, and an image re-configuring part 33 re-configures an image P1f' of the face portion with elements restored, on the basis of a parameter corresponding to the face portion P1f, which is obtained by adaptation to the model M, and generates an image P2 resulting from replacing the face portion of the image P1 with the image P1f'. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
