<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display information for the procedure to set a desired display color with more intuitively operative. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with a color bar generation section 203 which generates a color bar 206 for displaying a range in a prescribed display color and a coloring controller 202 in which the first range in the image displayed on a screen is selected and the first display color is changed based on the signal intensity in the range and is colored to the selected first range, and which colors the range in the first display color to the generated color bar 206.
