PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress temperature rise of a facing while absorbing torque fluctuation through slip control in a control device for an automatic transmission having a shift clutch. SOLUTION: A control device for an automatic transmission having a slip control means for controlling a shift clutch to a prescribed target slip amount during no speed change, is equipped with a lubricating oil temperature detecting sensor for detecting the temperature of lubricating oil flowing in the vicinity of a facing in the shift clutch. The slip control means reduces the target slip amount by multiplying the rotation correcting coefficient cfc with the target slip amount when the lubricating oil temperature detected by the lubricating oil temperature detecting sensor is a first set temperature T1 or higher.
