PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter and a transmission method capable of improving a security by preventing a leakage to the outside of a transmission information while using a redial function, by inhibiting the display of the transmission information containing a retransmitted transmission destination when the satisfaction of specified conditions is decided. SOLUTION: A control unit 4 processes a retransmission for transmitting an image data to the same transmission destination again by the redial function when the transmission of the image data is not completed, and the number of transmissions is counted. The control unit 4 decides whether or not the number of the transmissions is larger than a fixed value, informs a transmission error when the number of the transmissions is larger than the fixed value, and eliminates the transmission information containing the transmission destination.
