PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving zoom lens unit excellent in shock resistance. SOLUTION: Second and third lens holders 29 and 30 are provided with shaft holes, and shafts 27 and 28 pierce through the shaft holes so as to move in an optical axis direction. The second lens holder 29 is biased to a wall material 18 on a subject side and the third lens holder 30 is biased to a wall material 19 on an imaging device 12 side by first and second helical springs 31 and 32 inserted through the shafts 27 and 28. When a power source is turned off, the second lens holder 29 moves to the subject side and abuts on the wall material 18, and then stops, while the third lens holder 30 moves to the imaging device 12 side and abuts on the wall material 19, and then stops. Thus, both lens holders 29 and 30 are brought into contact with both wall materials 18 and 19 and held, whereby load applied to both lens holders 29 and 30 and a driving means is lessened. Furthermore, by making a distance between both lens holders 29 and 30 maximum, both lens holders 29 and 30 are prevented from colliding with each other when they are shocked.
