PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game ball discharging mechanism capable of securely operating a ball stopping mechanism when necessary. SOLUTION: A ball discharging unit 30 is disposed on the way of a ball downflow passage consisting of a supply ball feeding passage 31 and a discharged ball downflow passage 33, and the ball stopping mechanism 32 for compulsorily stopping game balls in the ball downflow passage is disposed on the upstream side from the ball discharging unit 30. The state of shortage of balls is intentionally generated by making a game ball stopping member project into the supply ball feeding passage while the ball stopping mechanism is operated when a main power supply is turned on, and operating the ball discharging unit while the operated state of the ball stopping mechanism is retained. Then, when the state of shortage of balls is eliminated by switching the state of the ball stopping mechanism to the non-operated state, it is determined that the ball stopping mechanism normally functions. On the other hand, when game balls are discharged while the state of shortage of balls is not generated, it is determined that the ball stopping mechanism is abnormal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
