PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus which allows stable installation that effectively prevents the generation of locking and also effectively prevents generation of vibrations on the bottom face of the apparatus when necessary. SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus has a pair of superconductive coils 2, as a static magnetic field generator, arranged in vertically opposing relation while sandwiching an imaging space 1. When installing the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, a plurality of support legs 25, which deform elastically with a predetermined spring constant in the load supporting direction, are arranged in a predetermined arrangement between the apparatus and the installation floor surface F.
