<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downright type lighting device made thinner, with less unevenness in the luminance. <P>SOLUTION: A downright type backlight module 101 is provided with a light guide plate 7, with through-holes 8 opened at a given position surrounded by light-incident faces 5 crossing a horizontal face, light sources 1 arranged on a substrate 2 so as to be positioned inside each through-hole 8, and reflecting members 6 arranged so as to face each light source 1 for reflecting the light emitted from it. The light is reflected at the reflecting members, travels laterally through the incident faces 5 and is irradiated from the light guide plate 7 toward an LCD 102 as a planar light flux, with high uniformity. The planar light, with little luminance unevenness thus obtained, enables formation of the downright-type backlight module 101. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
