PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard navigation device capable of a suitable map matching processing. SOLUTION: The onboard navigation device 100 makes a vehicle position on a map coincide with a position of a road. The device comprises an illuminance sensor 32 which detects an illuminance of the vehicle position, a vehicle position sunshine state discrimination part 12 which distinguishes the sunshine state of the vehicle position, based on the illuminance of the vehicle position detected by the illuminance sensor 32. When the sunshine state of the vehicle position is a sunny position, the vehicle position on the map is easy to coincide with the road which is being located in the sunny position fundamentally. When the sunshine state of the vehicle position is shade, it is comprising about a map matching processing part 24 which performs the processing which carries out the vehicle position on the map is easy to coincide with the road which is being located in the shade position fundamentally.
