PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding shaft for manufacturing a coreless sheet roll capable of easily pulling out the long winding shaft from the wound coreless sheet roll having extraordinarily large width without destroying a shape of an inner peripheral side of the roll. SOLUTION: This winding shaft 1 has a structure constituted by forming a plurality of channels 3 extending in the axial direction on a circumferential face 2 of the roll at an equal interval in the circumferential direction in a recessed manner, forming linear opposing fringe sides 3a deciding width W of each channel 3 and extending in the axial direction into a tapered shape having right-left symmetrical inclined lines by using parallel virtual lines Xa between the opposing fringe sides extended in parallel with an axis central line X of the winding shaft as basic lines, and enlarging the width of each channel 3 into a tapered shape gradually when approaching one end side 2b in the axial direction from the other end side 2a.
