PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail handling device easily and accurately positioning a device body with respect to a handrail. SOLUTION: The handrail handling device 100 has a body positioning means 120 for positioning the device body with respect to the handrail 12, so as to handle the handrail 12. The body positioning means 120 has a pair of contact bodies 122, 123 coming into contact with the handrail 12 from both sides in the width direction of the handrail; guiding means 121 for guiding the pair of contact bodies 122, 123 so that each of the pair of contact bodies 122, 123 is movable in the width direction with respect to the device body; movement restricting means 122C, 123C, 124 for restricting the pair of contact bodies 122, 123 so that the directions of their movement in the width direction are opposite to each other and the amounts of their movement in the width direction are the same; and urging means 127 for urging the pair of contact bodies inward in the width direction.
